Superman

SUPERMAN

SupermanKal-El is the sole survivor of the planet Krypton, sent to Earth moments before its destruction when he was just a baby. Raised as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas by Jonathan and Martha Kent, he is endowed with incredible abilities by Earth’s yellow sun. For years, Clark traveled the world, using his powers to help people in secret. But now in Metropolis, he has taken on the name Superman and is the first public superhero, and his example has inspired others to take on secret identities as well. But his powers lead some to question whether or not he’s here for the benefit of mankind.

LOIS LANE

Lois LaneThe daughter of General Sam Lane, a high-ranking military official, Lois Lane grew up as a military brat, moving around from place to place in her childhood. As an adult, her inquisitive nature and thirst for truth and justice led her to pursue a career as a reporter. Despite her young age, Lois’ talented writing and headstrong desire to get the story no matter what has led her to become one of the star reporters for the Metropolis Daily Planet. When Superman first appears, it is Lois who names him. But she is suspicious of the Man of Steel and his true nature.

JIMMY OLSEN

Jimmy OlsenA young photographer, Jimmy Olsen is often paired with Lois and their new partner, Clark Kent. He’s just as headstrong as they are and something of a daredevil, doing whatever necessary to get a shot. After working as an embedded photographer in Iraq, Jimmy feels that there is no shot that’s too dangerous to get. He becomes fast friends with Clark and he and Lois have a good-natured relationship where they always poke fun at each other. Despite his ribbing of the Planet’s editor in chief, Jimmy has a high deal of respect for him as well.

LANA LANG

Lana LangBorn and raised in Smallville, Lana Lang grew up with Clark. The two knew each other all their lives and in high school began dating. It was during this time that Clark confessed his abilities to Lana, and she helped him hide his secret. As an adult, Lana still lives in Smallville and even though Clark has moved to Metropolis, his powers allow them to still spend a great deal of time together. Nonetheless, Lana is becoming increasingly worried about Clark, especially once he makes his debut as Superman.

PERRY WHITE

Perry WhiteEditor in chief of the Daily Planet, Perry White spent his entire life in the newsroom. His father was a reporter and Perry followed in his footsteps, becoming a reporter as well before working his way up to editorial. An old school newsman, Perry has a fierce dedication to truth and has a reputation of throwing out influential people when they’ve tried to bribe him into slanting stories or printing misleading information. He’s gruff, but has the utmost respect and care for his employees, always willing to go to bat for them.

LEX LUTHOR

Lex LuthorThe son of wealthy industrialist Lionel Luthor, Lex spent a number of years in Smallville running his father’s interests. While there, he befriended Clark and Lana, but once Clark left Smallville to travel, Lex returned to Metropolis. With Lionel’s failing health, Lex took over control of LuthorCorp and renamed it LexCorp. One of the most brilliant men on the planet, Luthor is also extremely devious. He believes that this Superman may be the beginning of an invasion of the planet, but also realizes there’s a connection between him and his old friend.
